Work 4 Progress promotes the creation of an innovation platform in northern India to improve the quality of life of poor communities through employment opportunities.

  • WHAT WE DO

We have developed an action and learning platform to promote job creation in two rural areas in the state of Uttar Pradesh (India): Bundelkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

  • PARTNERS

In these regions, we work in collaboration with two networks of organizations that work in a coordinated way:

  • PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

    • Bacha Iman is an entrepreneur who's set up a microenterprise for water purification based on reverse osmosis in the area of Nabiganj. His initiative provides employment for 3 people.

    • Together with a group of women from Orchha, Sakshi runs a microenterprise that produces organic compost. The firm supplies local farmers and provides employment for 10 people.

    • Meera Kushawaha has opened a bangle shop and her business is growing. She is the only woman in her village to run a shop (image 1).

    • Vandana Ahirwar is an entrepreneur running an online service center in Tikamgarh (image 2).

    • Veer Singh Rajput attended a workshop on entrepreneurship that motivated him to expand his organic compost business. He plans to buy a packaging machine to increase the value of his product in the market (image 3).
