Jaime Lanaspa, born in Barcelona in 1944, Trustee of Fundación Bancaria Caixa d’Estalvis i Pensions de Barcelona ”la Caixa”, since June 2014.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona and a post graduate degree from IESE.
He is counsellor of Fomento Inmobiliario Asequible, and he holds the chairmanship of the Barcelona Office of the Club of Rome and the Spanish Net of Intercultural Cities (RECI).
During the 70s, he was Assistant Professor of Sociology at UAB and later at ESADE (“Management of banking companies").
First employed as Regional Inspector at the Institute of Public Opinion, and in 1968 he joined the ranks of Banco Atlántico (Risk Analyst, Deputy-Director of Investments, Director of Treasury).
From 1978 to 1981, at Bankunión, he held the position of Regional Director and Managing Director.
From between 1981 and 1984, he was Financial Managing Director at Covimet and Coviares, motorway concessionaires in Argentina.
Upon his return to Spain, he was Regional Director at Banco Urquijo Unión, and later General Managing Director at CaixaBank-France, in Paris, between 1988 and 1995.
From 1995 to 2003, he was Managing Director of AUCAT and afterwards at ACESA.
In 2003, he returned to ”la Caixa" as Director for Human Resources, until March 2008. From between this date and October 2014, he was Managing Director of ”la Caixa" Foundation.
