This year sees the 13th Short Story Competition, featuring stories written by older people and organised by ”la Caixa” Foundation in collaboration with Radio Nacional de España (RNE). There are two categories: micro stories of up to one hundred words and short stories of up to four pages in length. A wonderful opportunity to share stories that are full of imagination and become a part of all of us who read them.
The panel is made up of renowned writers such as Soledad Puértolas and Fernando Schwartz; Ana Vega Toscano, a culture expert at RNE; Miquel Molina, Assistant Director of La Vanguardia newspaper; Luis Gerardo Vacas and José Manuel Casado, winners of the Competition in 2020 in the micro story and short story categories, respectively; and Jesús Arroyo, Corporate Director of Communication and Marketing at ”la Caixa” Foundation.
The winning short and micro stories are adapted for the radio and broadcast on Radio Nacional de España (RNE), as well as being published in La Vanguardia newspaper and on the websites of ”la Caixa” Foundation and RNE. Their authors can also sit on the panel to judge following year's entrants. In recognition of those taking part, all the shortlisted stories are also published in a book produced every two years.
