Microconcerts Call 2023

With the goal of providing a platform for new artists who want to take risks with their format or repertoire and more conventional groups, the ”la Caixa” Foundation is opening the applications process this year for performers of all musical styles.


The Microconcerts are quick short-format concerts that will take place throughout the year in alternative spaces in the ”la Caixa” Foundation’s CaixaForum centres in Madrid, Zaragoza, Seville, Valencia, Palma, Barcelona and the CosmoCaixa Science Museum.

  • PARTICIPATION

    • This call is open to adult musicians and groups with 1 to 3 members, of all genres of music.

    • Successful applicants will be chosen by a jury of professionals from the music industry. The quality, appeal and diversity of proposals will be taken into account.

  • APPLICATION PROCESS

    Go to ”la Caixa” Foundation Private Area for Applications and upload the following files:

    1. Two separate recordings with a total length of roughly 10 minutes in a downloadable MP3 audio file or an internet link, which should include some of the pieces proposed for the performance. The recording should only be with the members who are applying for the call.

    2. Biography of the group and each of its members.

    3. Proposal for the programme you wish to perform (roughly 20 minutes in length).

    4. Digital photograph of the group in landscape format.

    5. Technical requirements for the proposal.

  • WHAT ”LA CAIXA” FOUNDATION OFFERS TO THE SELECTED ARTISTS

    • The chance to perform and receive payment (€200 gross per artist per day), as part of the musical events scheduled at the aforementioned ”la Caixa” Foundation’s CaixaForum centres and CosmoCaixa Science Museum over the course of 2023.

    • Each selected applicant will conduct a performance on a specific day at one of the aforementioned spaces. This performance could take the format of multiple short interventions or one slightly longer concert. The programme for these interventions may be repeated or vary each time.
