Since 1982, the ”la Caixa” Foundation has been offering every year a fellowship programme aimed at students who wish to expand their training through undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral studies.
We make every effort to support young talent because we are convinced that scientific progress, research, mobility and professional qualifications are key to the development of individuals and society as a whole.
The ”la Caixa” Foundation Fellowships programme is the most important of those promoted by a private institution in Spain, both in terms of the number of fellowships granted as well as the variety of disciplines funded. Likewise, we ensure that the studies that are funded with our fellowships are developed in a responsible manner in accordance with good practices in research and innovation.
These are the principles we take into account in all our selection processes:

Openness. Candidates, evaluators and the general public always have access to the regulations governing the selection processes and procedures.

Fairness. Applications are evaluated exclusively based on merit accredited by the candidates, without taking any other aspect into consideration.

Quality. ”la Caixa” Foundation fellowships are fellowships of excellence and are awarded exclusively according to criteria of academic or professional quality.
In addition to the financial support offered by our fellowships, we are distinguished by the special attention we offer our fellows before, during and after their fellowships, with support programmes and other additional benefits to ensure they enjoy the most enriching experience possible.
An example of this is the ”la Caixa” Foundation Fellows’ Association, a network of academic and professional talent made up of more than 5,000 people who have been trained in all kinds of disciplines and who live all over the world.
