  • ECONOMIC ALLOWANCE

    The total maximum financial amount of the fellowship is €305,100 in 3 maximum annual payments of €97,500 according to the following breakdown:

    • Labor costs: €59,000 per year that the host organisation will devote to hiring the fellow according to the labour legislation in force in Spain and Portugal. The minimum annual gross salary to be offered to the fellow by the host institution must be €44,300.

    • Research costs: €38,500 per year for expenses directly related to the development of the project such as consumables, equipment, personnel costs, registration to conferences, courses or research stays, intellectual property costs, etc.

    • Annual family assistance: €1,200 (gross) for each dependent child.

    • Mobility assistance: €5,400 for fellows who need to relocate to join the host institution at the beginning of the fellowship (needing to move to a city at a greater distance than 50km).

  • COMPLEMENTARY TRAINING PROGRAMME

    The postdoctoral Junior Leader fellowships programme includes an interdisciplinary training programme focused on innovation and leadership. This programme has been specially designed by leading international companies.

    Three sessions will be held: at the start of the fellowship, during the second year, and during the third year. Each session will last between 2 and 5 days, and ”la Caixa” Foundation will cover all costs for these sessions, including traveling and accommodation costs.

  • RESEARCH STAYS

    In order to complement their research career with practical and intersectoral experience, the fellows will be required to pursue a 3 to 6 month-long international or intersectoral secondment, in an institution chosen by the fellows themselves, which will enable them to increase their transversal skills.

  • MENTORING

    Each fellow may choose to have a mentor from the ”la Caixa” Foundation Fellows’ Association assigned to them, depending on their academic discipline or area of research interest.

  • OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

    Junior Leader fellows will have the opportunity to participate in the different initiatives launched by the ”la Caixa” Fellow’s Association for the public dissemination of science throughout society.   • NETWORKING ACTIVITIES

    The Junior Leader postdoctoral fellows will be part of the ”la Caixa” Fellows, a world-renowned network of academic and professional talent.

    The fellows will be able to participate in the activities that are organized to foster the encounters and encourage exchanges between members of this group. These meetings are the best opportunity to establish contacts and create new connections with people who have been trained in all kinds of disciplines at the best universities and research centres in the world thanks to fellowships from the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
