• WHAT THEY ARE

Psychosocial Care Teams (PCT) belong to non-profit organisations and are made up of doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, pastoral workers and volunteers.

”la Caixa” Foundation currently has 45 PCTs consisting of over 280 professionals present in all of Spain's autonomous regions.

  • WHAT WE DO

Via our programme, the Psychosocial Care Teams receive the training and guidance required to carry out their work of supporting people with advanced diseases in hospitals and at home.

Their valuable service improves the emotional health of both patients and their relatives, making a huge difference at such a delicate time as the end of life. In fact, a study by the Catalan Institute of Oncology shows that the work carried out by a PCT leads to a statistically significant improvement in levels of anxiety, sadness and unease among sick people and their families.
